Tumbling tomato blues

I have grown tumbling tomatoes in hanging baskets for many years now with fantastic results. This year after what seemed like a great start with plenty of flowers the leaves on the plants have turned blue and died off - I have a few different varieties and they all have the same problem. They have been grown in the same positions as usual and are in different sizes of pots and baskets. I have used a slow release fertilizer and watered them regularly. Uusally at this time of year I have a glut - this year I have had to throw them all away after a dismall crop and watching them all die slowly. Can anyone tell me what the probelm was??
