Hi, there was a lovely 'jazzy' type piece of music on this episode, when Monty was in his grasses garden. Can anybody identify this for me. Many thanks.
I think you mean the children's song And The Green Grass Grows all Around. Written in 1912. I'm nit old enough to have written it, but I do remember it. It's a cumulative song like One Man Went To Mow.
Does anybody know the name of the person who chooses the music for GW? I have most of the tracks myself but to know who it is who has such a similar taste in music as myself is intriguing. It's always nice to meet someone of like mind and with music as the language which transcends all other languages, I feel a 'soul mate' moment is imminent.
I would really like to know what else this person enjoys other than that which they choose for the program.
Do bands and musicians such as Frank Zappa or Amon Duul 2 feature in their repertoire. Or perhaps Jefferson Airplane, Jurassic Five or Bach may be included.
What of the genres too? Classical, West Coast Psychedelic, Rock, Indie and Dance I feel have all made a contribution to the choice of music we have today. But I digress.

Thanks waterbutts for responding. After a few hrs googling etc, I found it was Johnny Hodges with Whispering Grass. Such a lovely version.
Ah yes, different altogether. I'm not old enough to have written that one either.
What is that lovely music often heard on G W? Classical but modern, difficult to describe, ethereal, progressive chords. Any ideas?
