just-starting-out

I have a pony tail palm thats probably about 2 years old and i want to plant it in the garden now as its between 1-2 foot but i don't know if it will survive or what specifics i need to make sure it grows well. It was a gift so i don't really want to loose it. Any tips/help would be greatly appreciated image

It's a houseplant so don't put it in the garden. Nights are getting colder and it won't be amused.

I think this palm would be much safer in a conservatory - it is a desert plant and although it has been known to cope with temperatures down to -5C this is in dry conditions only.  I'm pretty sure it would perish n the cold and damp of a UK winter.
