I have 8 x forty foot ash trees and one of them is poorly.  Its has three trunks coming out of one base.  Over the last year its bark has started falling off.  dont think its ash die back.  It has leaves at the top but also some dead branches just waiting to fall down and get me.

Time to get a tree surgeon in. One who knows his stuff should be able to tell you whether its worth saving or for the chop.

Be aware that ash trees are prone to 'drop a branch'.  It really is better to have them looked at in case they have reached the end of their life rather than anything getting squished!
