laying-turn-in-a-raised-frame

Hello all,

Edit - Seems I cannot correct my title spelling error. Should be "Laying turf".

I am laying a raised lawn in a 3 x 8m frame made with sleepers.  I have already laid 6 inches of topsoil in the frame and will lay turf in about 1 month time.

Could someone provide advice as to what level the topsoil should be withing the frame so the turf sits at a good height.  If I level the topsoil to the top of the sleepers, will the turf be too heigh?  Should the topsoil be about 1cm down from the top of the sleeper?

Thank you for any assistance.

it's bound to sink, however much effort you put into treading it down, so I'd have it at least level.

My thoughts too - you're going to spend for ever topping this up with sifted soil.
