All euphorbias, so drab not for my garden thanks. The most HATED oh has to be MAHONIA, ugly leaves, insignificant flowers, and planted in hundreds by councils everywhere,,, why, when there are so many beautiful shrubs to chose from?
I have an instant dislike to any plant labelled as 'good ground cover' - I know it will be a rampant thing and I will never be rid of it. A personal dislike is daffodils with pink trumpets - for heavens sake, daffodils are yellow!!!!
I abhor Aucuba and actively dislike most of the other Laurels. With the exception of the useful and tasty Lauris nobilis, the rest, at least those growing in the U.K are really boring. There are loads of excellent hedgeing type plants so why must people plant these really dull, ugly specimens that can't even have the decency to be cut with a hedgetrimmer without the edges growing brown?
I have always hated Ribes- pink redcurrant. seemed lots of gardens in the mining village where I gre up had at least one, they just smells of cat pee and are a dreadfull dull colour pink.also hate goldenrod, remind me of scruffy uncared for gardens. Have to agree that I also hate seeing regimented boarders with neatly dug soil between the plants (except in parks where oddly I like them?)
I love just about everything else. I particularly like the smell of marigolds & geraniums unlike many people. Just wish I had room to try togrow everything!
Pyracantha! Lovely berries but a nightmare to prune and the flowers give me hay-fever! I quite agree with the dislike of salmon geraniums - YUK! Double daffodils - WHY???? Carex pendula - really attractive until you realise it has self-seeded and taken over your entire garden! But Ground Elder is my No.1 most hated, I eventually gave up and moved house!!
I love orchids of all kinds, roses, sweet peas, honeysuckle, ferns, jungly plants, carnivorous plants, even humble daisies.
