Titan arum

Hi I just wanted to get some advise before I do something I'll probably regret later. I can buy a young titan arum but wondering whether I should. The nursery keeps the plant at 19c but my south facing room is unheated.

Should I not buy at all or wait till spring next year?

Amorphophallus titanum..common name Titan arum.....why would you even consider growing it?
It is a tropical plant..in UK it is normally grown in tropical greenhouses...eg Kew.
I trust that you realise how ginormous they get.

Yes I know about it. I just like growing unusual tropical plants. I have coffee, mango and various African plants. Just for the novelty I guess and hoping if it ever flowers (unlikely to), annoy neighbour with smell lol.

If you can't keep it at a steamy 20C I would just go and see the ones at Kew when they flower.

There are smaller species you can grow that may be easier and also similar looking species that are hardy in the uk.

Without a big heated greenhouse, try a dragon arum, not as big I know but still pretty impressive and smelly.
