Hazel, I have a feeling that you have been beaten to that task by Ruby. I guess we will all be starting to think about getting stuck in to the approaching festive season.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Thanks for starting the new thread LB, I hadn't noticed we were getting close to the limit again. Lovely picture. Yes, it's that time of year but Ive done all I can today of wrapping presents. Plus my back was protestingπΒ
We had a delicious Sunday lunch cooked by Son 2, pumpkin and hazelnut soup, then roast beef with veg, then compote of apples and bananas and homemade biscuits.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Bit fatigued after a 3 hour trek up hills and down dales. The weather got better as the day wore on but just one flat street would be nice! Ideally I'd have carried on until it got dark but have a few other things to do and need to look after my knackered knee.
I'll have a tally up of what I've got left now. Fingers crossed I got over 100 done today...
@rowlandscastle444 - Framlingham is a pretty little town. It's where a lot of The Detectorists series were filmed (great series that - very gentle, English humour).
Apparently the floods there and in nearby Debenham were up to 7 feet deep at one stage. Fingers crossed businesses can get themselves up and running again before next year's tourist season begins. I wonder if one of my favourite farm shops (Alder Carr near Needham Market) was affected. It's close to the river and Needham was flooded so it probably wasπ’. Certainly our local Pick Your Own Pumpkin farm has been closed this weekend. It should have been its busiest weekend of the year at the start of half-term and a week before Halloween. Hopefully they'll make up the business during the half-term week.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
106 done today, so 153 left but the weather forecast for next weekend is a bit grim. I'm tempted to go AWOL from work tomorrow for a couple of hours. Sshh! Don't tell anyone! Β Β
T'Bird, I'm a fan of the Detectorists too. Its awful to think of 7 feet of water - especially at our heights T'Bird! I feel so sorry for the pumpkin farmer if the weird weather has ruined their crop and a chance for them to make some money.
Biglad, you've done well and as for possible evasive action tomorrow - my lips are sealed!
