Last night was very unusual here. For about an hour there was a lightning storm - lots and lots of flashes (shades of paparazzi!) and absolutely no thunder whatsoever. I kept waiting for it but nothing! Perhaps it was thundering further away but I've never experienced that type of storm before - most eerie. Needless to say all my shrubs and trees are dripping wet now.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning everyone . LB that sounds fascinating.I would have enjoyed watching that strange storm .I hope your plants haven’t suffered. Wonderful pic ,the colours are amazing .
Good morning everyone. Lovely flower bed @Ladybird4 It's sunny here at the moment, but we have storms forecast for this afternoon. Have a lovely day everyone.
Morning all. Busy, did the album arrive yesterday? Have a wonderful day. Sun is out and nice and warm out. I pricked out more foxglove seedlings last night, some of our seeds and some from mums garden. They're doing very well in the greenhouse. The garden seems to be slowly shutting down ready for Autumn, I wonder if the birds will return then.? Haven't seen them this summer. Biglad, we have another week to wait until our green waste gets collected and we already have three green bags full. Don't have a green bin as such. Lovely new thread started LB, thanks...nice picture.
Good morning, looks like we’ve had quite a bit of rain through the night, and more is forecast for this afternoon. The police helicopter was buzzing around for ages in the early hours of this morning, sounding quite close by. I agree about the garden starting to shut down ready for autumn @Songbird-2. There’s a very different feel to the mornings now. I think many birds hide away during late July and much of August whilst they get rid of old feathers and recuperate after the nesting season. A little robin has reappeared in the garden this week, singing his heart out. Such a pleasure to see and hear. No plans as such over the bank holiday weekend. We tend not to venture far because much of the time seems to be spent in queues of traffic. As we don’t have to any more, we choose not to.
We are the same @Red maple, take to staying out of the way of bank holiday days and weekends.Far too busy for us nowadays. Ive been lightly pruning a clematis, bad mistake, I got covered in dusty remains, dead leaves falling all over me, earwigs dropping down, the lot. I was covered in detritus/debris by the end, including bits in my eyes and on my face. Pottered about for a little while but it's become very showery this afternoon so have come inside now.

It's been Marti overnight but bright and dry now.
I've been out for a bit - cut back the raspberries and some herbs that are loving life a bit too much
Also had a go at the bamboo, which has started going a bit mad and shooting upwards.
Garden waste bin is well and truly full for collection next week.
Of to son's birthday in a minute, an hour's drive.
