It’s just past 4:30 on this first May morning and I’m listening to a blackbird singing loudly outside the open bedroom window … summer really is on its way and we must get a move on in the garden … but there’s always time to pop in here for a few minutes to say hello and share ‘stuff’ … the bits and bobs of life … good and not so good … and give and receive genuine kindness and support … so come in and find a comfy chair, the kettle’s always on and there’s always something tasty to share … everyone’s welcome …

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Looking back to the April thread I see @Pat E is happy they’ve had a good amount of rain … have you started getting any autumn colour in the trees yet Pat, or is it still too early?

  • Well thank you for the welcome, @Dovefromabove
I'm not normally around quite so early, but woken up by the birds here. A blackbird to, plus sparrows galore.
No sounds of other humans. Yet!!

Happy Labour Day to all you Forkers

yesterday I heard a cuckoo. Spring is truly here then even if the skies are a bit grey. And talking of birds, next Sunday is International Dawn Chorus day, details here:

Those of us who don't sleep in the morn will have something to do.

Don't know what to do today, bank holidays are not what they used to be. Will be pottering in the garden I am sure.

Good to see you both @coccinella and @rowlandscastle444 😃 ☕️☕️
I went back to sleep … and woke to find OH has made coffee ☕️
I can hear son sleeping ‘peacefully’ downstairs 😂

    Morning all,

Cloudy here but still nice to see early daylight and hear the birds singing.

Happy to have Charlie's company for an extra day. He's cut the grass and done the strimming, makes everything look so much tidier.

I've booked him a flight to Berlin to stay with a friend in June. I met his friend's mum at baby club when he was 3 days old and her daughter was 3 months old. We've all kept in touch despite us moving into France and them moving to Germany. He's staying with them for a week and on his return we're going to spend the weekend in Paris together before coming back. He's definitely become a globetrotter this year and he loves his travelling experiences.

I think the weekend we're in Paris is a cycling weekend, so no traffic in the centre, that'll be brilliant and I'm sure we'll hire some bikes to get around.

No idea how busy it will be at work, could go either way, fingers crossed not too stressful.

    Have a good day all.

    Morning all.

We will spend today with Daughter 1, home tomorrow. Son1 and Daughter 2 leave today. 9 grandchildren here at the moment.

Daughter has a big old farmhouse near Poitiers that they have spent the last 7 years renovating. Her OH is a brilliant handy man, he renovated their last house. She has planted over 100 roses in their garden which will be glorious in a couple of weeks time.

Gorgeous autumn colour @Pat E … I lose track of how your seasons pass. Rob is still asleep … hopefully he’ll be more comfortable today. 🤞
