Jasmine beesianum - frost damage

Hi I have an unruly jasmine beesianum. It has been caught by the frosts over winter. As it is too large really now can I cut it back drastically to get rid of the bulk and the frost damage. It flowers in June and July so I assume if I do so now it won't flower this year but otherwise should it be ok?

You can give jasmine a hard haircut and it will grow away again but I would wait another month or two, until it begins to shoot, then you can see where to cut back  to a growing shoot. You will lose most of the flowers but it will be fine next year.

My Jasmine beesainum is very unruly and growing right at the top of a 6ft fence, with just bare stems lower down. Can I cut it down considerably into the bare stems when it has flowered or is such a drastic haircut likely to kill it?

I've cut a huge unruly jasminum beesianum back really hard and it was fine, it was almost as big again within a couple of years. It's one of those plants I don't love but tolerate as it's evergreen and low maintenance and covers a lot of space.

Thanks. That’s exactly it, I’m not keen on it but we needed screening and it grew quick!! It is a bit of a thug though.

Frost damage . I wish! My neighbour's JB tries to strangle my roses. It's a constant battle. It sneaks under and through the fence. I sneakily snip it through the trellis. 😡
    In London. Keen but lazy.
