For some reason, my garden is suddenly awash with ground feeders. There's several blackbirds and a couple of redwings but also a few birds like round sparrows with  pointy black beaks . Does anyone know what they might be?

They can look quite plump if they've got their feathers fluffed up in cold weather.

I'd have said Dunnock but their beaks aren't black - more of a dark grey.
They have pinky/red legs, so try and get a look at those.

Thanks @AnniD and @Dovefromabove. Just read about them. Smart ladies. They can mate with two males and neither male knows who's the father so they both do the decent thing.
