Cordon apple/pear trees
in Fruit & veg
I've got 4 columnar cordon fruit trees in the garden (2 apple, 2 pears), and the first year of planting had some blossom and no fruit as expected, in year 2 I had slightly more blossom and a few fruits on the apples and no fruit on the pairs. the last 4 years I have had blossom but no fruit every year.
I have followed the recommended pruning as far as I can tell, but don't know if there's anything specific I should do to to increase the chance of fruits.
I'm far from experienced in this, so does anyone have any advice i could try or should I just be patient as I know they can take time to produce fruit, especially pears?

Three causes of no fruit 1. Frost damage to the flowers, 2. No pollinating insects at the correct time and 3. Incompatible flowering times of varieties that need another variety to ensure fruit set.
