Can anybody direct me to the law, which unquestionably operates in this house, that says when we have guests, even if only for a coffee, the towel has to be changed in the downstairs toilet and they have a legal right to check for dust on the top of picture frames?

It's the 11th commandment @BenCotto. Thou shalt have clean towels and no dust just for fear that nosy bu**ers ie visitors run their fingers where they hast nae business tae.

    Yes I agree @bee witched.
In the meantime I've cleaned the fins on 2 more of the radiators. I started on Christmas Day when I decided to start the spring cleaning. When I see the gunnels inside thick with cobwebs and spiders coming up for air I know I have to take action. So I did. Ne'er a bit of prevaricating there you see.
Best thing to clean radiators is a = hairdryer. Just run it along the top of the radiators and all the hair etc comes flying out the bottom. Only takes minutes to do. Job done. Great if you have cats like me, who like to lie along them. @Uff.

My granddaughter mentioned that @hogweed. Does it really get the fluff out from the bottom? I have a small radiator in the hall that I can't get the top grill off so I haven't cleaned it for 8 years I'm ashamed to say. I'll have a go at that tip and report back, thank you.

It comes from those damned competiton TV programs where people compete for the best B&B etc. They poke their fingers and noses into places they have no business poking them.

I took a small step to continuing with my bedroom decorating yesterday. I took a roll of bin liners upstairs ready to sort out the wardrobe and the suitcases under the bed. No, the wardrobe is not under the bed.
    One small step for :
  • My wife often says I prevaricate - although that's not the word she uses. Actually, it tends to be a sentence or ten!!
Is she justified? Well, that's a matter of opinion.  o:)
