Can I lay Mot type 1 on soggy wet clay once it’s dried out ?

Hi all , I have began a garden project on a sloping garden, I have excavated the area around 1.7m deep on the back edge, due to the heavy rain we have had lately it is like a bog at the moment , I am planning on installation a membrane and 200mm type 1 over the surface when it has dried out, would this be suitable ? It seems to be holding a fair bit of water just looking for some pointers if any one has experienced this before, I’ll post some pictures below, and advice would be greatly appreciated , thanks.

    Type 1 what?
What are you aiming to do?

  • I’m re-raining the banking with a wall , and putting a large concrete pad there for a outhouse cabin , and then slabbing the entire area , just a tad concerned about the soggy clay as don’t want nothing sinking when I come to put the hardcore down ?I just want to no if this boggy ground will dry up and that I’m able to go straight over the top of it with hardcore to give a solid base to work from

We put type1 hardcore down over wet clay when we made our drive.
We then compacted it all with a whacker plate before putting decorative granite chips on top. That was 20 years ago, and it's been OK since ... however, it wasn't on a slope.

Maybe you need to let it dry out first and do your work once you can be sure the slope will be stable.

Sometimes one needs to use a specialist.
