Some advice for a first-time

Hi everybody,

Hope all are keeping well.

I'm pretty new to gardening and I've attached some pics of the front of the house, front garden and side path and this'll be my first time I've actually tried to maintain a garden.

It's just some basic questions on how to trim bushes, shrubs and trees back and to help maintain them so they don't overgrow etc - just basic knowledge really.

I will be doing some research online today on identifying certain shrubs/trees and how to maintain this, but though I'd post some pictures and see if I could get some specific advice too.

I'm thinking about doing some design work too and wondered if there's anything I could do to brighten the paths and garden?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks for reading,

Lee.

I could only open one of the photos:

@glraggett, to upload photos click on the symbol above the comments box that looks like a postcard. But, before you do that, crop the photos just slightly otherwise they’ll upload sideways. Trying to find out why this happens is as elusive as finding free draining moist soil.

If you preview your photos before submitting it gives you the chance to rotate them.

  • Thanks Ben. Is there a post on here explaining how to do this correctly? It's already taken me much longer than I wanted to spend uploading images...
