Magazine Adverts

Once again I’ve just received my monthly Gardeners World magazine and, apart from loose leaf inserted adverts that go straight in to the recycling bin, I have now noticed an increase in the amount of full page and other adverts appearing within the magazine.

The November issue contains 48 full page adverts, most of them totally irrelevant to garden readers.

This means that of the 146 page magazine, 33% of it, 48 full pages, is given over to advertising.

As the magazine now contains so much advertising, does this mean that the annual subscription will come down accordingly ?

No but company profits may go up.

Difficult times all round - the sales adverting team are just doing their job and probably taking more ads at less revenue per ad

It's the waste of paper that annoys me - so much junk mail and so few trees

I've just cancelled my subscription. Got tired of being preached at and as you say, too many adverts.
Been a long time subscriber (10 years +).

Given the availability of absolutely everything on line I'm surprised paper magazines still exist
