Horse manure

As an experiment I layered semi rotted horse manure with grass clippings in a dalek bin with lid on.  It has heated up well and steaming nucely.  Should I just leave it to carry on or should I empty it out and mix it up and put it back in the bin?  How to tell when it is ready to use on the garden?

If you empty it all out, mix it up and put it back it'll be ready much sooner.
You'll know when it's ready when there's no more heat being generated and it looks like crumbly compost and has a warm earthy smell.
If you turn it soon, I'd guess it may be ready for use next Spring.
If you leave it, it may be ready next autumn or the following spring.
