RSPB Campaign/government intent on destroying nature

Apologies if this has already been posted but I guess no harm in doing it again. Apparently the great new government are going to remove loads of nature protecting restrictions, an absolute joke. So here is the RSPB link to help you contact your local MP about it:

    Just because the RSPB haven't clarified this on their campaign page, this does only apply in England so far and if you live anywhere else it's still good to email your MP but phrase it to say that you want reassurance that your devolved government won't follow suit or that your MP will back existing protections in your country.

    I did post this on an environment thread  yesterday. And yes, it’s outrageous. All that post-Brexit blather about “having higher environmental standards than Europe” and having bonfires of protection and planning regs. “Pro-development” they call it, in the name of the “smaller state”. Did anyone anywhere in the UK vote for a nuked country? 🤬

    I just despair. Part of me feels like I should just stay away from all things nature so I don't see what's happening and get upset 😔. But obv I can't do that.

    Have emailed my Tory MP asking if her government really has lost its marbles.
    Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
    If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.

    If they put better/harsher rules in place, fine, but I would suggest not to get rid of the old rules first.  Have emailed my MP.

    Thanks @Crazybeelady. Just emailed my Tory MP, although he's a bit of a toothless **** at the best of times and doesn't like making ripples in the house.
    Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border.

    They declare The opposite. They crow about having a total “bonfire of regulations” so they can have no taxes and we can all glory in the “smaller state” that “keeps its nose out of people’s private business”. We’re back to “society doesn’t exist”, “screw community”, screw clean water, commonly held responsibility and public goods. Dog eat dog, each man for himself.

    When I'm in the UK my MP is Liz Truss  :s

    I've emailed my MP but she was an ardent Brexiter so won't change her mind but I suppose flooding MPs inboxes will at least show that it is a concern of many many people.
    Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.
