Citrus x aurantium 'Sanguinelli'

Would anyone have a view on whether to put the greenhouse heater at 5, 10 or 15 C for best cultivation of a Citrus x aurantium 'Sanguinelli' over winter?   (It cannot be tuned to 12 - only multiples of 5).    Advice on Google is contradictory!

Thank you in advance.  Mrs W

If a minimum of 12° is needed then 15° will be fine for it.
Hope you get some oranges too :)

  • Thanks so much, Pete.8 - (I was not sure if it was 12 C from the various tips around the place, which said confusingly 8, 10, 12 and 15 and 'hardy to -5', which seems improbable.... ).  I'll go with 15 on your advice!

    Good luck
Bear in mind it will be very expensive to heat your greenhouse to that temperature all over winter - so hope you get plenty of fruits! :)

  • Crumbs yes.  But it is on a thermostat and the greenhouse is in a sunny place so perhaps we shall be in luck with reducing the time it operates. The tree has been in an 'airpot' all Summer and looks very healthy....
