a few day ago I posted diagrams from a 1917
city garden plan from portland oregon.  some
may think looking at the plan planting it out would be
simple matter but here is the challenge. I will post all
7 parts of articles that appeared in that newspaper
relating to vegetable gardening. your challenge is
simple how many of each type vegetable plant would
you need to plant to completely grow  the vegetable garden
defined by the diagrams and the included info,
you may use other standard spacing info for planting
vegetables as well. it is not as easy as it looks at first
glance.

your answer should list each type of vegetable how many
of each plant is  the garden. the prize is bragging rights.
the deadline for answering is sep 30 2023.
 good luck
here is the info:

Flipping heck war garden, if I were just starting out learning to 'garden' I take one look at that and nip to the shops for my fruit and veg. I have a couple of old gardening books, not as old as your newspaper article and even they make it all sound so difficult.

I guess that most of us learn over a matter of years though and perhaps don't realise the knowledge we absorb until it becomes a habit.

  • uff like said it is not any easy challenge. even with all my knowledge
it took several days. and am still not sure i got number plants each
vegetable type correct with exception of tomatoes.

one side note uff it is five articles. i broke one up so it would
be easier to read when posted here.

I’m not even going to try .Thank you war garden for the challenge,I hope some folk give it a go but I’m out .
  • I am not even going to try. I have enough trouble sorting out and deciding what I am going to grow in my little veg. patch. Good luck to anyone with enough time to sit down, read and digest and work it out.
  • you guys and girls realize you have a year to post an answer.
