I’m thinking of getting a battery mower can anyone give advice on what’s a good one, I’ve got to small lawns that I use petrol mowers on at the moment but I’m selling them and wish to get a battery one. 👋
I can't comment on battery mowers (never owned one) but your lawns look quite small and level like mine, so a cylinder push-along mower could be a cheaper and more environmentally sound alternative to consider.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
My mower hasn’t got a back roller, because the area is so small most mowers with a back roller has a front collection box, it would be impossible to turn on that lawn, there’s a rubber blade on my mower that drags the grass forward.
Just wanted to say what a lovely garden you have @Tall trees, with a great view at the back! I have an Alpina cordless mower which is now sold under the Stiga brand. This is the equivalent to the one I have: Buy STIGA COMBI 336e cordless lawn mower. A bit pricey when you add on the cost of the battery and charger but there's a smaller one which includes these. Mine is reliable, lightweight and cuts well, with no fall out from the collection box!

Fair enough.
I tested one of our work ones in the spring and found it too light to mow in a controlled manner.
My advice would be go for the heaviest one you can find if you value a controlled and pleasant mowing experience. It'll still be lighter than any petrol mower.

Cordless Versus Petrol and Bosch Rotak 32R
I have a Bosch Rotak 32R and can't fault it. Others may not agree.
I am sure you will hear other member's views.
