Over wintering Cosmos

I'm starting this weekend the sad task of removing lot of summer bedding after it was decimated by extremely heavy rains this week. We're in Central Scotland and looking at the weather today you wouldn't have thought it had been so bad this week. Anyway I'm looking for some hints and tips on how to over winter cosmos chocamocha that I have in pots. I was thinking about the greenhouse or coldframe and covering in layers of fleece. I start to heat the greenhouse (just keeping the frost etc off to about 10c from late January early February when I start my seeds in the heated propagator. Thanks
