Flu vaccines are starting to become available this month, so if you are entitled to one, I would strongly recommend you get it.
The combination of flu / COVID this winter could cause very severe problems.

You probably had a COVID vaccine, this is common flu. I doubt this years vaccines would have been available 3 months ago.

No it was definitely a flu vaccination. Got it in the chemists. Had the Covid one before that. It must have been the one for last year. - I probably had it twice . Oh well, no harm done😊

  • We're both booked in at our local Boots pharmacy in a couple of weeks' time. 😇

You can do it online. Very simple.

I'm off to see the practice nurse for some blood tests in a bit so I'll ask when they're expecting to get to the 50-65 age group. Last year I think it was mid-late October, the year before it was November. I want to find out if there'll be a COVID booster available as well.

COVID boosters will become available to the over 50's sometime in late autumn.

In France you can't get a flu vaccine before October.

I asked the practice nurse - she says they're expecting the flu vaccines to be delivered anytime now but there could be delays, and they'll start inviting people (oldest/most vulnerable first of course) as soon as the first batch is delivered. She thinks it'll probably be mid-October for my age group, and she said that they're planning to give the COVID booster at the same time - one in each arm. That'll be a couple of sleepless nights to look forward to :s.
