Pear tree advice please

My pear is in a container and normally quite happy. It lost all its fruit in the winds not long after they formed. When the ferocious heat hit I put it in the shade and kept it fed and watered. Most of the leaves gradually fell off over a few weeks and I thought it was done for. It now thinks it’s spring and the buds are opening. What should I do? I’m worried the frost will get the new growth and there won’t be any useful spurs for next year.

Not much you can do if it’s made it’s own decision I would have thought .
If it were mine I’d keep it as sheltered as possible and purchase some fleece to cover it in the frost .Other than that it’s doing it’s thing so let it .

I hate to be pessimistic, but  sometimes a fruit tree that’s on its way out will put on a show of blossom as if it’s one final desperate attempt to flower and fruit so that its genes survive  …
