My poor turnips!

This is my first year growing veg so on a very steep learning curve! I sowed some turnips last month, they were growing nicely until the cabbage moths appeared a week or so ago. Being new to this growing lark I didn’t think to check if there were any eggs on my veg!
The last few days I have seen my poor turnips being munched away, so today I went on a caterpiller hunt and must have found about 20!
My question is although the leaves are looking sorry for themselves will this effect the growing of the turnip, should I ditch them and start again?

Grateful for any advice please.

As long as there are a few leaves or parts of leaves left they should recover and grow on.

Ah that’s good news, thank you.
  • The important bit is the central growing tip of the green growth … as long as that’s not been grazed away the plant will continue to grow. 🤞
