Beans
in Fruit & veg
While I realise French and Runner Beans are often discussed in these columns, while shopping yesterday,I was shocked to see the Beans were priced at £13 per lb. I would encourage anyone to grow their own. I do of course realise not everyone has land, so I strongly recommend growing in pots. I have done this for years with total success. Watering is easy and can be perfectly controlled. Especially so if saved from the kitchen. I use JINo 3.

Haven't bought fresh beans for some time - grow my own for fresh and freeze the excess. The only ones I don't do are Runners but that is simply personal preference
Agree they can be one of the easiest veg to grow whether in the ground, raised beds or good sized pots, depending on your site and space.
The down side this year was Blackfly infestation.
