A PATIO ROSE

macfallmacfall Posts: 32
I have a patio rose in my border, and I need to move it to a pot.  What compost is best for this rose, I was thinking about a John Innes or is there a special one for roses.  You have helped me in the past, so I thank you.

I use John Innes and grit .Make sure your pot is big enough for the roots to be comfortable.I’m sure others will have other ideas ,but that’s what I do .

J.Innes No. 3 mixed with a bit of manure/homemade compost/grit is best for roses. It's got more oomph for long term pots.

Thank you both, I never thought about grit, but it makes sense.
