Courgette variety - any ideas?

JennyJJennyJ Posts: 9,649
I've got two courgette plants grown from the same packet of seeds, variety "Black Beauty" which is what I would call a "normal" courgette - dark green, slim fruits. One of the plants is producing as expected, the other is producing these - pale green and bulbous shape (it's about 4.5 inches long, the same length that I'd normally pick them at). Any ideas what variety it might be?

In any case I'll taste before cooking in case it's one of those bitter ones.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

  • Don't know but there seems to be a lot of "strangers" appearing from named seed packets the last couple of years. Veg and flowers.
