Giant Spinach

Has anyone tried Suttons Spinach Gigante d'Inverne? I have just bought a packet of trial seeds for 99p to use as an autumn sown crop.

Evidently not, Joyce, but I've made a note of the variety and will hope to include a packet next March.
  • Seems not.
If the picture on the seed packet is to be believed, they don't fib do they?!
I will be able to reroof the house with the leaves they grow so big!

It wouldn’t grow here, 6-10 hours a day sunshine and temps of 23°
If you live in a warm dry sunny area it could do well.

Talking of re-roofing the house …

… that’s a 10 litre watering can next to my Swiss Chard 😎

    and it’s not bolting 👍

  • Cornwall should do nicely then.

Wow! One leaf will do me a couple of meals at least. If, it grows to the same size.
I am going to rethink where I plan to grow it, not the little corner tucked away. One plant will suffice, rather than the row I was planning.
