They are regular visitors here and very welcome - love them. Very glad other people are benefiting from their presence.
    Martina Franca, Puglia, southern Italy
Love living in Italy but a Loiner at heart
  • Regular visitors here. They drive the cat crazy moving so fast from plant to plant.
Marne la vallée, basically just outside Paris 🇫🇷, but definitely Scottish at heart.

Well I'd never seen one before but guess what was busy on the valarian today :)
  • Have seen two this year in my garden and at least one every year for the last seven years.
Valerian and phlox being the most popular plants that they feed on.

Had two earlier this week on the lavender border. Not sure I’ve ever seen one before, let alone two at the same time. Fascinating little critters.

Imagine if they were the size of cats!

Imagine if he had actual humming birds here. We have parakeets, why not escaped hummers?

It's unlikely anyone keeps caged hummingbirds in the UK or anywhere in EU, probably very illegal.   Plenty of people though have seen HHMs and are convinced they've seen hummingbirds.
Based in Sussex, I garden to encourage as many birds to my garden as possible.

The only one I ever saw in my garden was on the valerian.  I think it was white. We didn't have red at the time.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
