Coincidence

My daughter and family visited Looe in Cornwall while on holiday this year and bought me a postcard. Weather hot and sunny. I found the one from the same date but 2018 and the weather was so bad it was macs all round because of the driving rain.

Just goes to show the vagaries in our weather doesn't it? There's one thing for sure, it's never boring an we always have something to say about it.

MrsB,we had very hot weather and no rain for 2 months in 2018, but no hosepipe ban.

Remember when 2012 turned out to be the wettest drought on record? Hosepipe bans in the spring followed by non-stop rain all summer. Climate change roulette sadly.

People still seem to get very confused in regard to weather versus climate.

All the news outlets said the hot weather is caused by climate change, the earth heating because of CO2

Yes, but it’s not the heat per se … it’s the fact that the warming of the planet is causing long established climatic patterns to change and become less stable than hitherto … air currents with high temperatures are moving to parts of the globe that used not to experience them …. likewise areas of extreme cold and extreme wet …. not to mention the stronger winds caused when areas of high temperature run up against areas of low temperature … at least that’s as I understand it ….

The term ‘climate change’ would be better called ‘climate pattern changes’ IMHO.

What I’m saying is that it’s also colder in some places due to climate change …. and it’s wetter in some places due to climate change, and windier in some places, also due to climate change … the climate is becoming more extreme in all directions  … due to climate change.

And most people don’t realise that the pattern of weather over a long period of time are needed to build the climate change theory.

With Earth's population increasing by approx 50,000 per day, every day, and 90% of the population living north of the equator, they all need food and raw materials to survive, so any Nett Zero by 2050 is 'Pie in the Sky'?
