Can anyone help identify this plant? It hasn’t flowered, the leaves have no smell. The leaves have a stringy sort of structure.

Are the leaves really tough to cut @pitterpatter
Looking forward to my new garden with clay soil here in South Notts.

Gardening is so exciting I wet my plants.

@Perki That’s a really good shout. I’m surprised I didn’t think about that possibility now.
@GardenerSuze They’re not really tough, but tougher than allium. The cross section of the leaf has a sort of Y shape. I need to compare with my other kniphofias.

@pitter-patter Good news kniphofias love dry soils.

I know, my garden is definitely trying to tell me something. Yesterday, I’ve found two echinops, today a kniphofia… I wouldn’t be surprised if I discovered a cactus tomorrow!
