Help

Have 2 little apple trees. Other tree is brill, this one has a problem.  First year with proper fruit for both.

    Patience please … I’m sure someone with the right experience will be along … but some gardeners are early to bed and early to rise … they might be having a mug of hot cocoa and putting on their nightshirts

    Hi @pews70, that might possibly be codling moth damage. The moths lay their eggs in the tree over the winter and the larvae then burrow into the apples. One of the ways to stop them is to apply grease bands (horrible job!) tied around the trunks to stop the moths crawling up the trunks and or/ try a pherophome (?) trap which you hang from the branches which apparently distract the males.

    There are various other diseases/pests which affect apples, a good google should help.
