Rotted pears

I have some pears in a food waste tub that has rotted down-it has been forgotten for over a year.
Can I put it on a compost heap or is it OK to mix in to the soil around roses?

    I'd put whatever is left on the compost heap.
    If it's still a bit gunky and you put it around your roses it will attract files.
