I'd like to buy a pink champagne currant but there seems to be a dearth of growers online that produce this one. Has anyone come across this one before or ideas who to buy from please?
Thank you silver surfer, I found those but I particularly want to buy the pink champagne variety. I could ring James McKintyre though to check if by any chance they have one.
Edit to add that they haven't got that one and the gentleman that I spoke to hadn't heard of it either.
More from www... "The Champagne or Pink Champagne variety is a very old cultivar listed in the catalogue of William Prince’s Long Island, New York nursery since the early eighteenth century. Pink Champagne currant is a vigorous upright bush with a beautiful pale red fruit of high quality and delectable flavor."
Yes it is a pity. Could be that it was never available in the UK. If I don't manage to track one down then the gloire-de-sablons might be my next bet. Trouble is and I'm sure you are the same, dog and bone springs to mind with me when I'm looking for something special.
