Cucamelons ready?

How do you know when a cucamelon is ready to pick, please?
I have several now that are quite long but haven't fattened up. Many are about 3-4 cm long; I read that they should be the size of a grape - but they are rather skinny 'grapes'. Will they just expand outwards or get even longer than they are?

    They are ready now. Don't let them get any bigger as they will get woody. The more you pick the more will develop. Had a great harvest last year and you can pickle them but they don't keep for months but weeks in a fridge. Size of a grape...forget that just pick them now.
