Identifying a grape from its leaves

In my new house I have a grape vine.  Is it possible to identify the grape from its leaves

I shouldn't think you can ID variety from a leaf.

It is possible but it is not easy. Normally you would also examine bunches of grapes as well as leaves, both at various stages of development. DNA testing has largely replaced such old school botany but is probably too expensive for the average gardener.
