Advice re cucumbers

Hi,can anyone tell me why this is happening to my cucumbers please. I have very fine netting covering them & they are in a sunny position. They are watered at the base every day. This is my first year growing them so would like to know if it’s something I’m doing wrong. Any advice gratefully received.

    Looks like the Snail Crew are on the prowl!!
    A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

    Slug, snail, or even woodlice can do that @Eileen107
