Frog scream!

Was cutting back lady’s mantle today & a frog hopped out. Didn’t want it get onto rd so picked it up & put in border. It hopped off but made a terrible sort of screaming noise. Felt terrible, not heard a frog do that before. Anyone heard this before?

    Yes, I have. I picked up a frog to carry it to the safety of long grass. It wasn't very big so I had it gently cupped in two hands. The scream it gave out was so out of proportion to its size! I peeked at it and its mouth was wide open as it let out the noise.  It was very startling but thankfully I held onto it until I reached the long grass.
    A really strange thing to hear.

    yeah it yes it was really quite loud & scary for such a small thing!!

    Our next door neighbours cats have brought a few frogs in to "play with" and apparently they scream horribly. I rescued one from the cat the other day and it never made a murmur.

    Yes, I accidentally trod on a frog’s foot or something while walking through some tall wet grass and it certainly let me know about it.

    It leapt away from me.

    I don’t think I hurt it too much. 😬

    It may be a tactic to frighten, therefore let go.

    Yes, I've heard it too, once.
    I was pruning an old bay a few years ago in the summer and I heard a loud scream almost like a baby screech and quite loud.
    I never found the culprit, but assumed it was a frog or toad
