Another rookie error!

I have loads of blanketweed in my wildlife pond, and a beautiful water lily which is now in flower and in bud. I stupidly began twizzling the weed, but it was growing all around the lily and the water lily plus roots floated to the surface, so that buds are now above the surface of the water. I tried to anchor it with a rock, but it just floated to the surface again. Any change that if I let it be it will re-anchor itself? Have a damaged it? (argh)

    It'll sink back down in winter.

    Oh, thanks, @Hostafan1 - that's reassuring. :) Do you think it'll keep flowering, even though the flowers will be above the water surface?
