Centaurea Montana mildew

satrdayboysatrdayboy Posts: 55
My Centaurea Montana have succumbed to mildew. Whole plant is now turning brown. I was going to dig it out but when cutting it back noticed there are new healthy shoots coming through. Will the whole plant need to be removed, or will it recover? Thanks

Cut it right down and water it well. It will send up new shoots and may even reflower.

I agree ... mine do this most years ... I cut them hard back, give them a good soaking and they grow again and reflower well.  I did it about a month ago and mine are reflowering now.
