Not a Peony - but what is it?

AnniDAnniD Posts: 11,909
I bought this as a bare root plant labelled "Peony" which it clearly isn't. I was thinking it's possibly a type of Rudbeckia or Helianthum, but can anyone give me a positive identification please ?
(Apologies for the out of focus photo of the flowers).

It looks like a Rudbeckia laciniata.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

@Busy-Lizzie, I think you're right ! Thank you so much.
Here's a better photo of the flower.

I think it's either "Goldquelle" or possibly " Hortensia"

I had Goldquelle. It was tall and vigorous.

I'm in two minds to know what to do with it, l've been lovingly nurturing it for 2 years thinking it was a peony and l'm not sure if it a. will fit in with my planting and b.will run wild.
I'm already doing battle with Helianthus "Monarch" that much as l love it, wants to take over the world.
Might be one for the charity shop.
Thanks again for the help @Busy-Lizzie 🙂
