hello Mike, hope you enjoy being a member of the forum. It’s a Western European wild flower. I don’t know the plant so don’t know it’s growth pattern.There’s a recent discussion on this forum regarding Geum Aven which is a British wildflower but certainly classed as a weed in cultivated areas
Any plant growing where it is not wanted may be classed as a weed. Not a Geum I have grown, but nearly all Geums (except the sterile hybrids) have to propensity to became seed weeds. If you are at all bothered by it then to answer is to dead head it assiduously.
