Recommendations please

Can I please ask for your collective wisdom on what to plant to disguise my new bin store? The planting space is about 12 inches wide, west facing, and heavy clay soil that was previously occupied by an enormous conifer, so will be quite poor. It's a fairly hot and dry spot.

I want to plant some sort of small climber to cover the trellis on the back and side of the store. Any other recommendations for plants that could go along the edge without getting too big and spreading over the footpath, like the rosemary behind it has 😬 ?

Thanks for your help!

I'd paint it first and try something easy like ivy. There would be no trouble keeping it pruned. If you didn't like it, you could pull it out and try something else.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
