I only grow Little Gem and Amaze.
Little gem is a crisp lettuce.
Amaze is good too and very pretty, but not crisp.

Lobjoits is a larger Cos lettuce … a lovely crisp lettuce with good flavour … doesn’t run to seed too quickly … a good tip if sowing in this hot weather is to put the seed in the fridge overnight first you aid germination.

.
And Webbs Wonderful has long been a favourite crisp firm-hearted lettuce for the home grower.

Saladin is a good iceberg to grow, very easy. The only problem I have with it is slugs!
