What to do with palm tree leaves

Hi all, the mature palm tree in our garden is shedding leaves like cats and dogs shedding fur... Wondering what I can do with the dried leaves apart from putting them in the green bin. Even cutting up and putting into the compost bin is a big hassle. Anybody tried burning them in BBQ?  :D

    Dry Cordyline leaves make very good firestarters. We rarely burn anything any more, but I keep a stock of them for that purpose.
