I have a friend who has just posted that, all the Aquilegia planted for next year has been uprooted out of their pots, anyone else had this happen, what would do that.

Pigeons?  Occasionally I get young plants dug out of small pots. I've always assumed it's pigeons or some other bird (blackbirds digging around?). I've never caught them in the act though

They’re a magnet for vine weevil,  if you tip the soil out of the pots you could see if there are some in there.  They eat the root s away and plants fall over.
