Can anyone identify this apple tree?

Hi,
We have a mature apple tree in our garden but we're not entirely sure what type it is.  Does anyone know what type it might be based on the photos below please?

A bit early in the year to say.

Have you ever eaten any of the apples? Is it a cooker or an eater?
Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.

It is very difficult to identify apples this early in the year, examination of mature fruit is the best guide. You can shorten the search once you have a few more details e.g. is it a cooker or eater, when does it ripen. Once you have mature fruit to compare this website is very useful https://www.fruitid.com/#quickid/1

Your best free option would be to look out for apple days locally in Autumn when you would be able to take a couple of mature fruit along for an expert to examine. The other option is to send some fruit to Brogdale to identify but that costs £25.
