Can anyone identify this apple tree?

We have a mature apple tree in our garden but we're not entirely sure what type it is.  Does anyone know what type it might be based on the photos below please?

A bit early in the year to say.

Have you ever eaten any of the apples? Is it a cooker or an eater?
Apophthegm -  a big word for a small thought.
If you live in Derbyshire, as I do.

It is very difficult to identify apples this early in the year, examination of mature fruit is the best guide. You can shorten the search once you have a few more details e.g. is it a cooker or eater, when does it ripen. Once you have mature fruit to compare this website is very useful

Your best free option would be to look out for apple days locally in Autumn when you would be able to take a couple of mature fruit along for an expert to examine. The other option is to send some fruit to Brogdale to identify but that costs £25.
