Hi everyone.

Could someone please identify what type of lily this is?

The bulbs were meant to be martagon lilies but it looks vastly different and has hardly any fragrance

Usually it is the asiatic lilies that have no fragrance, although there are so many hybrids it could be anything.  What variety (apart from martagon)is it supposed to be?
  • @fidgetbones Thought it might be the asiatic ones as I had white asiatic ones last year which I removed to get fragrant ones. The variety on the bulb package was Alberta Morning Martagon lillies which are pinkish/purple and which work with the rest of the beds colour scheme as the rest of the flowers are pink and red roses

@drew.rycroft I think it could be one of the asiatic lilies too. Sorry unable to help any furture. I would be disappointed to say the least. I have grown Martagon lilies in the past and they are very different. I think that yellow will scream with your colour scheme sorry to say.
I bought three Hardy Geraniums on line this year all were supposed to be the same but one is different. I guess at least it is a plant that can be lifted and split so not really such a problem.

Looking forward to my new garden with clay soil here in South Notts.

Gardening is so exciting I wet my plants.
